Roman "Coolus E" helmet reproduction from the late Augustan to Tiberian period. Named for the Coolus region of the Marne River valley in France where examples were found. The horizontal ridge along the brow prevented sword blows from hitting the main headpiece. Side tubes were mounted for plumes, and a top spike for holding a horsehair crest. Hand-forged from 18-ga. brass. Full-size wearable adult helmet. Helmet dimensions:8-1/2" forehead-to-back, 8" ear-to-ear.
