"Cingulum Militare," The Roman Soldier's Belt...with Solid Brass Castings! This is the type of leather belt that a roman soldier wore around his waist basically as a holder for his dagger. The leather apron was partly protection for the lower waist and partly ornamental. The soldier could fasten strips of leather to the front of his belt and attach his own choice of decoration to these attachments. Mostly the soldier add tokens and discs to signify the campaigns he had fought in. The Belt is 41-1/2" long. The smaller belts are 1-1/4" wide and 17" long. Each of the Solid Brass Accents are riveted on from the back. Belt has steel buckle. The verticle straps do not cover the back. |
